Frank Ocean: Channel Orange Review

Shit hit the fan earlier this week when Frank Ocean opened up about his bi-sexuality on his tumblr, uploading lyrics enclosing information about his first love which happened to be with another brother. A brave move for someone part of the arguably homophobic collective Odd Future. It has however been thrown around that this coming out of the closet business is nothing but a stunt. Irrespective of whether the boy likes bum or poon really doesn't, or shouldn't matter when Channel Orange is quite possibly one of 2012's most definitive albums (thus far). Man is smooth. Channel Orange plays as if cooking a sexy salmon dish for someone you think you're in love with. It starts slow and seductively with Thinking Of You as if lathering and massaging a slab of salmon in Napolina Olive Oil. Things start to spice up with Super Rich Kids ft Earl Sweatshirt, as if lightly dusting the salmon with grounded cinnamon, allowing time for the oil to absorb the cinnamon as you wait for the oven to heat at 180c. Things start to get pretty hot with Pyramids as if placing the cinnamon saturated salmon into the oven, allowing for it to glaze, crisp, and turn golden. Boiling point reaches with perhaps his most beautiful track Bad Religion as your door bell rings. You open it, and there stands that person in question. Voila. You have one of the sexiest albums (and salmon dishes) in a fucking long time.
