Azealia Banks: Fantasea Mixtape Review
This girl is dirty. After releasing free mixtape Fantasea just yesterday, Azealia Banks was trending twitter all day. People going simply wild for the "ratchet" bitch. As predicted back in January Banks was going to shit all over us this year, and boy does her shit smell like roses. But Fantasea shies away from her 212 safety net. The best way to describe this mixtape is a fusion of old school happy hardcore trance circa Scooter and Alice DeeJay injected with shit load of twenty first century angst circa Lil Kim. Creating a sound reminiscent to that of a pissed off Gwen Stefani skanking on a concoction of legal naughty salts. Girl is one big tongue twister. Not only is the velocity of her rapping outrageously impressive but she really shows off her vocal range with Us revealing that the girl actually has a voice worth listening too. If this is what she can spit out as a free mixtape, what the fuck can we expect from her in the future. In spite of all this praise, when ever I listen to Banks I feel simply filthy. Like I've been awake for days, forgetting to brush my teeth, sleeping with the milk man while my husbands at work, forgetting to change my tampons. That sort of dirty. She makes me want to saturate myself in bleach. Blitz her profanities away. But I just can't stop hitting repeat.
